Young Brewers Fans Dream Comes True with Spring Training Surprise

MILWAUKEE (WLUK) – Three young fans, including a nine-year-old girl from Green Bay, were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend Brewers spring training in Phoenix.

During a special tour of American Family Field, the children and their families were surprised with the exciting news. The event included an official signing day ceremony, where they were welcomed as honorary team members and answered questions from the media.

Each of these remarkable kids has faced significant health challenges. Natasha Taylor, a nine-year-old from Green Bay, was diagnosed with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP), a rare genetic disorder that gradually turns muscle and connective tissue into bone. With only a few known cases worldwide, there is currently no cure for the condition.

Joining Natasha on the trip are two children from Southeast Wisconsin: Tyler Morano, a nine-year-old from Fredonia who has progressive hearing loss, and Blake Baker, an eight-year-old from Grafton who previously had a benign brain tumor due to a rare genetic disease.

During their time in Phoenix, the children and their families will have the chance to meet Brewers players, tour the clubhouse, and even participate in pre-game warmups. The highlight of their experience will come on February 22, when they take the field to throw the first pitch at the Brewers’ spring training game.

This unforgettable experience was made possible through a collaboration between Aurora Health Care and the Milwaukee Brewers, giving these incredible kids a chance to create lasting memories with their favorite team.
