Grichuk Diamondbacks Agree to One Year Deal

Randal Grichuk is staying in the desert after agreeing to a one-year, $5 million contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the team announced Tuesday. The deal includes incentives that could push its total value to $5.5 million.

Back in October, MLB insider Mark Feinsand reported that Grichuk had declined a $6 million option with Arizona, opting instead to enter free agency. That decision included a $500,000 buyout.

The 33-year-old outfielder put together a strong 2024 campaign, slashing .291/.348/.528 with 12 home runs and 46 RBIs across 106 games for the Diamondbacks.

A veteran of multiple clubs, Grichuk played for the Toronto Blue Jays from 2018 to 2021 and has also suited up for the St. Louis Cardinals, Colorado Rockies, and Los Angeles Angels. With his return to Arizona, he will provide the Diamondbacks with a reliable right-handed bat and outfield depth heading into the 2025 season
