Bucks on the Brink Can They Stop the Slide Against the Hornets

CHARLOTTE – The Milwaukee Bucks will look to snap their four-game losing streak when they face the Charlotte Hornets on Feb. 5 (Feb. 6, Singapore time).

Coming off a 125-96 blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Feb. 3, the Bucks will transition from playing one of the NBA’s best teams to facing one of the league’s worst.

Head coach Doc Rivers acknowledged his team’s fatigue after deploying a makeshift lineup against the Thunder, opting to keep his starters active rather than resting them in Charlotte.

“My instincts told me to fly them directly to Charlotte,” Rivers said. “But that’s a bad look, and I didn’t want to waste the owners’ money on fines.”

Key Player Updates

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo (right patella tendinopathy) and Damian Lillard are questionable.
  • Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis Jr. are expected to play.

Antetokounmpo’s streak of five consecutive 30+ point games ended when he sat out against Oklahoma City. Without him, the Bucks struggled defensively, allowing 38 or more points in each of the first three quarters. AJ Johnson provided a rare bright spot, scoring a career-high 13 points in 29 minutes.

Elsewhere in the NBA

On Feb. 4, Jayson Tatum scored 22 points as the Boston Celtics claimed a 112-105 road victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, marking a statement win in a battle of Eastern Conference heavyweights.

Boston’s balanced offense proved too much for Cleveland, with five players scoring in double figures. Derrick White added 20 points, knocking down six three-pointers to help seal the win.
