Knights Need Little Something Extra to Win Close Games

The Vegas Golden Knights are struggling, with a 3-8-3 record in their last 14 games, including two separate four-game losing streaks. They haven’t won consecutive games in nearly a month.

Their most recent loss was a 2-1 defeat to the New York Islanders, a team that also contributed to the start of their slump back in January. However, despite the mounting losses, the Golden Knights have mostly remained competitive. Their 4-0 loss to the Islanders in January remains their only blowout loss in 2025. In 10 of their last 11 losses, they’ve been within one goal of their opponent in the third period.

Shea Theodore commented after the Islanders game, highlighting the team’s numerous scoring chances despite the loss. He suggested that converting just a couple of those opportunities could drastically change the game’s momentum and the team’s overall feeling. While the losses are piling up, the team’s close games suggest they’re not far from turning things around.
