Sweet Revenge: Rangers Beat Bruins in Thrilling Comeback

The New York Rangers secured a crucial 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins at Madison Square Garden. This win was particularly important after a previous multi-goal loss to the Bruins just days prior.

Chris Kreider scored the game-winning goal in the third period, his first at home since December 2nd. The goal came shorthanded, with Kreider and Mika Zibanejad executing a 2-on-1 rush while the Rangers were killing a penalty. This was Kreider’s third shorthanded goal of the season and the Rangers’ ninth, tying them for second-most in the NHL.

The Rangers controlled the game’s tempo for a significant portion, limiting the Bruins’ offensive chances. Boston didn’t register a shot on goal until over 12 minutes into the first period. Zac Jones, returning to the lineup after being a healthy scratch for 18 straight games, contributed to the Rangers’ improved play.

The Rangers’ new-look top line opened the scoring in the second period, with Artemi Panarin scoring off a one-timer after a play set up by J.T. Miller and Zibanejad. Boston, however, responded later in the period when David Pastrnak scored after his initial shot was blocked.
