Code Geass, the acclaimed anime franchise that debuted in 2006, continues to captivate audiences with its intricate storylines and compelling characters. Featuring character designs by CLAMP and a talented Japanese filmmaking team, Code Geass quickly rose to prominence, becoming a major force in the anime world.
Following the conclusion of the main anime series, the Code Geass universe expanded with a variety of spin-offs and new narratives. These supplementary stories, often told through animated shorts and theatrical films, have largely resonated with fans, further enriching the Code Geass experience.
Now, after a period of relative quiet, Code Geass is back with a brand new theatrical film project: Code Geass: Rozé Of The Recapture (formerly Code Geass: Z Of The Recapture – Dakkan No Zetto). This four-part series will center around a new protagonist named Rozé, promising to introduce fresh perspectives and expand the existing lore.
The creative team behind Code Geass: Rozé Of The Recapture boasts familiar names, ensuring a high level of quality and continuity. Sunrise is once again at the helm, with Ohashi Yoshimitsu directing, Kimura Noboru writing the screenplay, and Kimura Takahiro and Shimamura Shuichi handling character design (based on CLAMP’s original concepts). The iconic music of Kawai Kenji will also return, alongside the animation talents of Kimura Takahiro, Shimamura Shuichi, Nakatani Seiichi, Shigeta Satoshi, and Hashimoto Takashi. Obata Kazuhiro serves as art director, Shinoda Shuuji leads 3DCG, and Sakamoto Kumiko is the editor.
Code Geass: Rozé Of The Recapture also introduces two new characters. Rozé will be voiced by Amasaki Kouhei, while his companion Ash will be voiced by Furukawa Makoto. Adding to the excitement, MIYAVI will perform the opening theme, “Running In My Head.” Further details about the film’s plot and story will be released soon, leaving fans eager to delve deeper into this new chapter of the Code Geass saga.
