Five Arrested in Fatal Fall Investigation

Five individuals have been charged in Argentina in connection with the death of Liam Payne, the former One Direction member. The charges, brought by the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office, include manslaughter by negligence and supplying a controlled substance.  

Among those charged are Rogelio “Roger” Nores, a close friend of Payne, along with hotel manager Gilda Martin and receptionist Esteban Grassi. Two other hotel employees, Braian Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra, are accused of providing drugs to the singer. Following the announcement of the charges, a judge confirmed that two of the defendants remain in custody and have been ordered to appear in court within 24 hours. The potential penalties under Argentine law are severe.  

Liam Payne passed away on October 16th after falling from the third floor of the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires. The autopsy revealed the presence of multiple stimulants in his system, including pink cocaine (a mixture of ecstasy, ketamine, caffeine, and 2-CB), as well as crack cocaine and benzodiazepine. The circumstances surrounding his fall and the details of who bears ultimate responsibility are still under investigation by Argentine police.  

Payne’s death shocked the entertainment world, and his funeral, held privately for close friends and family outside London, was attended by his former One Direction bandmates, including Harry Styles,
