Former Pirates Pitcher Finds New Home with Guardians

Pitcher Vince Velasquez has agreed to a minor league contract with the Cleveland Guardians, according to a report by Jon Heyman of the New York Post. The deal includes an invitation to Major League spring training.  

Velasquez last pitched in the majors with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2023, where he had a 4-4 record and a 3.86 ERA in eight appearances. He underwent elbow surgery in June of 2023 and has not pitched since.
