Russell Wilson Joins New York Giants on One-Year Deal

Russell Wilson, a 36-year-old quarterback with a decade of Pro Bowl appearances, has agreed to a one-year contract with the New York Giants, according to sources. The deal, yet to be finalized, is reportedly worth up to $21 million, with $10.5 million guaranteed.
Wilson’s arrival marks his fourth team in five years. Last season, he contributed to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ playoff run, though their season ended with a five-game losing streak after a strong 6-1 start. He threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions, achieving a 96.5 passer rating with the Steelers.

Prior to Pittsburgh, Wilson spent two disappointing seasons with the Denver Broncos, culminating in his release despite a 2023 season with 3,070 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and an eight-interception record. His most successful stint was with the Seattle Seahawks, where he averaged 3,706 passing yards and 29 touchdowns over 10 seasons, leading them to a Super Bowl victory and a near-second title. The New York Giants, who also recently signed veteran Jameis Winston, hold the No. 3 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
