The No. 3 Texas Longhorns continued their impressive run, defeating No. 5 LSU 65-58 in a thrilling comeback victory. This win comes just a week after Texas upset then-No. 2 South Carolina, marking their third top-10 win in a single week.

Despite trailing for most of the game, Texas rallied in the fourth quarter to secure the hard-earned win. LSU led by as many as 12 points, but the Longhorns chipped away at the deficit. Freshman guard Bryanna Preston’s steal and layup midway through the fourth quarter gave Texas their first lead of the game (50-49).

The final minutes were a back-and-forth affair, with LSU trying to close the gap. However, Texas, fueled by a supportive home crowd, outscored LSU 21-9 in the fourth quarter. Five costly fourth-quarter turnovers also hampered the Tigers’ efforts.

LSU’s Mikaylah Williams led all scorers with 18 points, while Aneesah Morrow contributed a double-double with 15 points and 20 rebounds. Flau’jae Johnson also scored 16 points for the Tigers. Texas’ Madison Booker led her team with 16 points and 10 rebounds. While Taylor Jones and Rori Harmon also scored in double figures, it was the contributions from the bench, including seven points each from Preston and Jordan Lee, that proved crucial for Texas.

This victory over LSU is Texas’ tenth straight win and their third against a top-10 opponent this week, following their upset of South Carolina and dominant win over Kentucky. The Longhorns now face a less challenging end to their regular season, with three remaining games against unranked opponents: Georgia, Mississippi State, and Florida.
