Ohio State football fans will have a chance to see their team in action this spring, but the format of that viewing opportunity remains uncertain. While the traditional spring game date of the second Saturday in April (April 12th) will be honored with an event at Ohio Stadium, it’s being billed as a “spring showcase,” leaving open the possibility that it won’t be a traditional spring game. Details about the showcase, including whether it will be a game format and ticket information, are still forthcoming.

Regardless of the format, the day will be a festive one for Buckeye fans. A “Buckeye Gameday Fan Fest” will take place in Remembrance Park from 9 a.m. to noon, featuring live entertainment, food and drinks, fan activities, and giveaways.
The team’s spring practice schedule, which begins on March 17th after students return from spring break, will be condensed into four weeks. The Buckeyes will practice three times in the first week and four times per week for the subsequent three weeks, culminating in the spring showcase as their 15th and final practice session.
The later-than-usual start to spring practice is a direct result of the team’s extended 2024 season, which concluded with a national championship victory on January 20th after a full 16-game schedule.
