Stephen Curry Makes History: First to 4,000 Career 3-Pointers

Stephen Curry etched his name further into basketball history on March 13th, becoming the first NBA player to achieve 4,000 career 3-pointers. This landmark moment occurred during the Golden State Warriors’ victory over the Sacramento Kings at Chase Center, with a 28-foot 3-pointer in the third quarter sealing the deal. The achievement was met with celebratory commentary, highlighting the significance of Curry’s accomplishment.  

The magnitude of Curry’s record is underscored by the fact that the closest active player, James Harden, trails him by a staggering 900 3-pointers. Curry had already surpassed Ray Allen’s previous record in 2021, but reaching 4,000 was a feat he considered “beyond his wildest dreams.” He expressed his amazement at pushing the record to such heights and acknowledged the special nature of the milestone.  

The celebration extended beyond the court, with his wife, Ayesha Curry, sharing the moment on social media. Curry, now in his 16th NBA season, continues the legacy of his father, Dell Curry, who was also known for his 3-point shooting. The question now becomes how far Curry will extend this record, with him humorously attributing the possibility of reaching 5,000 to the resilience of his knees.
